As society continues to change, cultural representation on-screen continues to be an important topic of discussion for everyone. Whether it be race, religion, or sexual orientation, the amount of representation shown has certainly spiked from what it was years back.

Now, Apple TV’s new docuseries, Visible: Out On Television, will focus on the presence of the LGBTQIA+ community in film and television. The series will explore the history of the queer community in media and television going as far back as 50 years ago when the first openly gay sitcom character appeared in All In The Family. The show will also focus on the early taboos, homophobia, and early censorship the LGBTQ community endured during the rise of television.

Visible will provide a deep-dive into the on-screen gay community. The show will feature numerous interviews from some of the most iconic personalities in the LGBTQ community including Ellen DeGeneres, Rachel Maddow, Billy Porter, Lena Waithe, Anderson Cooper, and many more.

The series is set to be released on Apple TV+ on February 14th. Check out the trailer for Visible: Out On Television below.
