Saturday, April 13th marks the three-year anniversary since Kobe Bryant retired from the NBA. Nike has since proclaimed 4/13 to be “Mamba Day,” which serves as a celebration of the Kobe’s legendary career. Now, in honor of Mamba Day 2019 Spalding will be releasing a limited edition basketball in honor of the Laker legend.
The Kobe Bryant 24K Basketball, the rock is made from a Mamba snakeskin-like cover. The call comes in a special edition Kobe Bryant 94 Series display box and it is a normal-sized, regulation ball similar to those in the NBA.
“The Mamba Mentality is what defined me throughout my career,” says Bryant. “Spalding understands that product quality is a big part of that mentality.”
The Kobe Bryant Basketball will be priced at $125 and available for Spalding MVP members on the company’s website on Friday morning. The ball will then go on sale via Dick’s Sporting Goods’ online shop at 11am PST.
