Akon Says R. Kelly Has The Right To Redeem Himself & Make Right By His Victims Following Guilty Verdict

Earlier this week, R. Kelly was found guilty of all nine federal charges against him, including sex crimes, kidnapping, human trafficking, racketeering, and obstruction of justice, news of the verdict came as a disappointment to the R&B musical icon.

However, there has been an incessant uproar of opinion from former Kelly fans, as well as his supporters, and even Akon took a moment to address the verdict. TMZ caught up with the mogul, and founder of his own Senegalese city, where they asked him is he believes there is any coming back for Kelly, who is facing 10 years to life in prison. Akon says, “There is always a way to redeem yourself but you have to first accept the fact that you’re wrong, or you’re in a position for that particular purpose to why you’re being there in the first place.” The singer continues, “Everyone’s going to make a mistake and everyone has the right to redeem themselves from those mistakes, like, even him. He has the right to try to make right by those he hurt.”
