There is no doubt that we have all felt the effects of the unprecedented coronavirus pandemic as we are still grappling with those we have sadly lost, with many expressing confusion and frustration over mask mandates, and how difficult it’s been for many of us mentally. For hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes, it looks like things came to a head for the rapper during his recent appearance where he went on a complete anti-covid rant.

In a now-viral clip, Busta went off on lockdown and mask mandates, sharing with concertgoers that he believes the government is trying to “take our civil liberties away.”  Although the incident happened nearly a month ago, during the Seoul Tacos 10th Anniversary Block Party in St. Louis, the video is making its rounds on social media and it captures the veteran exclaiming, “In the last sixteen f**king months, COVID could suck a d**k. All these little weird ass government policies and mandates, suck a d**k. They’re trying to take our civil liberties away. It feels good to be back outside, we outside for real!”

With the hip-hop community experiencing loss with notable icons in the game, as well as catching the novel virus itself, Bus has shared his views on things previously as well and has come under fire for those beliefs. During the speech, Rhymes further drives his point by stating, “No human being is supposed to tell you you can’t even breathe freely. Fuck your mask! Some of y’all might feel differently but fuck your mask! You can’t eat food with a fucking mask on.
