Dr. Dre and executive Jimmy Iovine are working together to further the educational experience in South Los Angles and the newly approved project will definitely serve the community to its fullest.

The Los Angeles Board of Education confirmed the public high school project, which is backed by both Dre and Iovine. Currently referred to as Regional High School No. 1, the school will be located at Audubon Middle School in the Leimert Park neighborhood. Detailed by the LA Times, Iovine says the school will be “for kids who want to go out and start their own company or go work at a place… like Marvel, or Apple or companies like that.” While transportation will be provided to those who do not live in the immediate area, the school is expected to open Fall 2022, noting that the school will not serve as a music institution, but will focus on creativity.

Also, in the LA Times piece, Dre comments on his brain aneurysm scare that occurred at the top of 2021, which he now says he’s “feeling fantastic”, and urges everyone to take high blood pressure seriously!
