The Lakers have had a roller coaster 2018/2019, considering they started the season winning and have fallen after Christmas. The team has been in talks to bring New Orleans’ Anthony Davis hoping to make an immediate impact with LeBron James and the rest. However, one of the names involved in the possible trade involves Lonzo Ball. With this said, we know LaVar, his outspoken dad, had something to say.
LaVar went on to mention Lakers coach Luke Walton, claiming that he’s is not a good leader for his son.
“The Lakers gave my boy that losing attitude. If you look at my boys, the one thing they do do is win … my boys don’t lose too much,” Ball said. “When he got to the Lakers — Luke Walton was the worst coach ever for Lonzo because he had a losing mentality. They’ve been losing for three years. That’s how you develop losing.”
Lonzo’s dad went on to say that he’d rather see his son play for the Phoenix Suns than the Pelicans.
“Like I told them before, if you trade my son, it’ll be the worst thing you ever did for your franchise, I guarantee it,” LaVar said.
The NBA transfer deadline is Thursday, February 7th, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens until then.
