The past year has been very productive for Marlon Wayans. The comedian has continued to expand his acting and comedic resume with his NBC sitcom Marlon, his Netflix original film Naked, and his stand-up special Woke-ish.

However, he’s not done yet. Wayans is partnering with Shots Studios to create a new YouTube channel in which he will do different comedy segments.

According to Variety, Marlon is ready to create his channel. “I’m excited to release my YouTube channel. I’m partnering with Shots Studios, who does amazing work with incredible talent. Looking forward to expanding my brand of humor into the YouTube arena.”

YouTube is currently taking it’s content to another level, which means they will have to stray away from only vlogs and music videos. In order to compete with Netflix and Hulu, it is important for them to bring creatives like Marlon to lead the way.

Shots Studio co-found John Shahidi, also mentioned that he “loved Marlon’s work.,” And that “he’s created a lot of movies that make you laugh just as hard your tenth time watching it as it did when you first see it.”

“Marlon has a unique ability to connect with people around the world and reach them in an authentic, consistent and unfiltered way,” said Jamie Byrne, YouTube’s director of global creator partnerships. “We look forward to seeing him bring his unique brand of comedy to YouTube.”

Although not released yet, it will be interesting to see the direction Marlon goes with the channel. What we do know is it’ll be worth a click.
