Michael Jackson’s classic 1982 album, Thriller is still influential to this day, with hits like “Billie Jean,” “Beat It,” and “Thriller,” its legacy is cemented in history. The timeless album went on to win multiple Grammy’s and American Music Awards, as well as become a classic record-breaking album.

For many years, Thriller has been considered the best selling album in United States history. However, as of Monday (Aug. 20), The Eagles’ Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 has become the best selling album of all time.

The Recording Academy has revealed that The Eagles’ album is now 38 times platinum, and Jackson’s Thriller is 33 times platinum.

“We are grateful for our families, our management, our crew, the people at radio and, most of all, the loyal fans who have stuck with us through the ups and downs of 46 years. It’s been quite a ride,” Don Henley of the Eagles, said in a statement.
