Gary Vee on How The Internet Changed Hip Hop Forever & His Top 5 Rappers

Gary Vee is one of the most well-known voices in the industry. In between being a motivational speaker, entrepreneur, author, speaker, and internet personality, real name Gary Vaynerchuk stops by 93.5 KDAY for an exclusive interview with Noah Ayala.

During the conversation, Gary Vee touches on how internet changed the state of hip-hop forever.

He states, “I grew up in an environment where I realized — 90% of my friends were on financial aid, all screwed up situations back home — but they had the one thing that I new matter the most, which was adversity. Adversity is the foundation for success.”

He goes on to compare how it was back in the day to today’s social media era.

“And now that the internet’s around? I live in New York, when I wake up at 4am for a 6am flight, and I see a bunch of kids around at 5:01 in the morning. I look at them and I’m like, “That’s my people, they get it.” And now that there’s Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, and Soundcloud. All those kids that wanted to be rappers, all those kids that wanted to be entrepreneurs, it used to be hard!”
