21st Annual Bear Hugs Toy Drive
Seeks Plush Toys & Donations to Comfort
Hospitalized Children During Holidays
“Bear Hugs Toy Drive” Event Takes Place December 12, 2017 at the
Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach
(LONG BEACH, California) Power 106, 93.5 KDAY and The Meruelo Group is holding its annual Bear Hugs Toy Drive, seeking plush toy and cash donations to provide hundreds of teddy bears and Pillow Pets for pediatric patients at the Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach.
The 21st annual “Bear Hugs Toy Drive” holiday party is held on Tuesday, December 12 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm PST. The “Bear Hugs Toy Drive” was launched by Liset Meruelo, wife of prominent Cuban-American businessman Alex Meruelo, of the Meruelo Group. Meruelo said, “The small donation of a plush toy provides these children and their families with a moment of happiness and smiles. As a parent, you’d want to look forward to anything that can get your child’s mind off their illnesses and treatments and just be a kid during the holidays.”
In addition to plush toy donations for the kids, celebrity guests, Power 106 and 93.5 KDAY on-air announcers and visits from Star Wars and Frozen costumed characters will entertain the children and deliver the plush toys.

Meruelo added, “Our goal is to provide 1000 new plush toys for child patients at the Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital Long Beach throughout the entire year.”
