Amanda Wright is an East Los Angeles native who has a dying passion for philanthropy. Coming from a single parent home with four siblings and barely making it paycheck to paycheck, she learned early on in her life the importance of having a village support you. She aspires to give back to the community that raised her and to bring a more positive and uplifting movement to the fast-paced jungle she knows so well.

Instead of holding her back, Amanda’s challenges motivated her to see the silver lining. Her struggles help to define her, not break her. Amanda is currently studying Communications with a focus on Journalism, endeavoring to take her knowledge and to highlight positive movements throughout the world.

Ever since she could remember, Amanda has been involved with her community. From San Gabriel Valley’s Boys and Girls Club to Walt Disney’s Big Brothers and Big Sisters of LA program to volunteering at local events, community service has always been an essential part of Amanda’s personality. Currently, she hosts the 93.5 KDAY-L.A./93.5 WILD-I.E. community show, “Do The Wright Thing.” The show airs every Sunday at 6a. and it showcases the change makers within our local communities.

Her most recent accomplishment, Amanda is featured on the WILD Minute which airs hourly on the weekdays, keeping you up to date on what’s new in the Urban Hip Hop community.
