Nearly a week after the devastating news that hip-hop icon DMX suffered an alleged drug overdose and heart attack, it is not being reported that X has sadly not regained any brain function.

Last Saturday morning, news was shared of X’s condition as a drug overdose triggered a heart attack, which left him in a grave condition and with little brain activity. While prayers swarmed in and vigils flooding the streets near the White Plains hospital the New York native is currently admitted, X’s family now faces a tough decision on their next steps.

Yesterday, X underwent serious brain tests to determine brain function, as he remains in a coma, on life support. It was reported by TMZ that X was deprived from oxygen for nearly a half hour last Friday night. The new site is also reporting that X’s family asked the rapper’s longtime friend and attorney, Steve Rifkind, to fly out to New York Friday, which is “another sign that hope is dwindling.”

We are continuing to send our prayers to X and his family during this difficult time.
