Andre Iguodala is one of the last great players available for a team to add to their NBA squads. Although there had been speculation that the seasoned veteran could go to the Lakers, the Clippers have come out as the more likely option. The former finals MVP might be past his prime, but he’s still a hot commodity in the league.
Iguodala is currently on the Memphis Grizzlies, although he might change teams considering they’re not looking to include him in the rotation. The Memphis squad is looking to trade the former Golden State Warriors player for some draft picks to build for the future.
According to The Athletic, the Grizzlies are looking to get a large amount for Iguodala that many teams cannot pay for. However, if a team were to complete the buyout, the Clippers appear to be the likely option for Iguodala.
“If Iguodala is bought out, the Clippers will be among the first in line to try to sign him. But I don’t think a trade is realistic,” The Athletic states. “L.A. is already deep on the wings, and I’m not quite sure Iguodala’s a better player than, say, Moe Harkless.”
Considering the big moves the Clippers have made this off-season, adding Iguodala could be the icing on the cake to take the championship.
