MC Lyte Reflects On Performing For Obama + Talks Financial Literacy w/ Lynn Richardson

MC Lyte & Lynn Richardson recently stopped by the KDAY Morning Show with Cece & Romeo to give details about how she was the first female rapper to perform at the White House for President Obama, her foundation, and Financial Literacy.

Cece and Romeo asked MC Lyte about her experience at the White House. Lynn goes on to explain how they had given her the title and how Queen Latifah introduced her before her performance as the “God Mother of Hip hop.” Many artists were present including Usher, and Smokey Robinson.

Lynn Richardson, who has been apart of Lyte’s management for 7 years talked about starting a foundation with Lyte that gives away scholarships to students. Since 2012, they’ve given away over 1 million dollars in scholarships.

Lynn gives listeners “3 ways to get your money”

1. Spend Less Money

2. Have multiple streams of income and pay close attention to tax write offs

3. Start writing down everything you spend your money on so you know where your money goes and what not to spend on.
