Ice Cube Addresses Why Lamar Odom Was Cut From The BIG3

Ice Cube has addressed the reason as to why former Lakers star Lamar Odom was among the four players who were deactivated by the BIG3 league this week. In a statement released earlier this week, The BIG3 announced that Odom, Baron Davis, Jermaine O’Neal and Bonzi Wells had been deactivated for this season.

Davis hadn’t played in a game this season and has previously stated his problems with the league. O’Neal and Wells had not played a game this season, while Odom had only scored two points and four rebounds in three games. According to Cube, Lamar Odom was cut from the BIG3 because the league wants “players that are actually playing.” He then said that they can’t have guys who “can’t play” or have “health issues.”

Considering Wells had a heart attack in 2017, O’Neal has an irregular heartbeat (and wasn’t cleared to play, and Odom went through a near-death health experience, it’s not surprising to see why they were cut.
