Ice Cube and MTV are looking to bring back the popular show, Celebrity Deathmatch. The show originally aired from 1998 to 2002 with MTV attempting to bring it back a couple of years ago without success. Now with Cube, the two parties are getting ready for a reboot with plans on dropping it soon.

According to Variety, MTV Studios is reportedly teaming up with Ice Cube and Eric Fogel, the original creator of the show, to bring back the show. Conversations state that MTV Studios plans to “reimagine [Celebrity Deathmatch] … for a new generation.”

The President of MTV has said: “’Deathmatch’ was the meme before memes, remains a hot topic on social media and will be a smart, funny way to tackle the over-the-top rhetoric of today’s pop culture where it belongs – in the wrestling ring.”

There has been speculation of Cube staring in the show, so that should get many fans excited for the future.
