The highly-anticipated Tha Carter V album finally dropped this past week, and Lil Wayne has come out on top. The album had the world talking. LeBron James of the Lakers, Kanye Wwest and other peers of Wayne showed their respects. Kanye west as far as to say that he was happy taking second place to Wayne when sale numbers came in.

According to Hits Daily Double, Tha Carter V is predicted to sell between 475-525k units in its first week, with 165-180k from pure album sales. This would be the third biggest opening for a hip hop album this year, just behind Drake and Travis Scott.

Comparing it to his previous work, Tha Carter IV moved 964,000 units in its first week back in 2011, but it also had major singles and promo behind it.
