There is no denying that when T-Pain dropped in the mid-2000s, he definitely changed up the game for everyone, specifically with his distinct use of autotune. While Pain was met with much skepticism and dismissal by fellow peers, you may recall releases like Jay-Z’s “D.O.A.” which took jabs at the industry’s overuse of autotune, music critics, and more, the Tallahassee native had certified hits!
The “Buy U A Drank” singer recently interviewed with Netflix’s docuseries ‘This Is Pop‘, where he openly discussed how his musical peer, Usher, triggered a four-year-long battle with depression. Detailing the 2013 incident, Pain explains that he and Usher and a number of artists were all on a flight, headed to the BET Awards when he was awakened to news that Usher wanted to speak with him.
