Ice T has been staying busy with his hit-television show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, but now it seems like he’s coming back to music. The artist recently announced that his metal band Body Count would be making a return, following their 2017 album, “Bloodlust.”
“Headed back to the Studio today,” he captioned the video. “New BodyCount album in progress. First two songs locked. Hard as F!! We’re going in. #Carnivore @BodyCountBand.”
According to HipHopDX, the new album will be called “Carnivore,” without a release date as of yet.
Body Count first came together back in 1990, and have not been afraid of saying what they feel. The group released their track, “Cop Killer,” which led to then President George H.W. Bush to comment on it at the time. They have also made tracks such as “No Lives Matter” and “Black Hoodie,” talking about the issues of race relations and police brutality.
“Black Hoodie” earned the group a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance last year, losing out to Mastodon’s “Sultan’s Curse.”
