Niall Horan is looking back at the song that started his solo career. This Town, his debut single outside One Direction, has officially reached its 10th anniversary after first arriving on September 29, 2016.
To mark the milestone, Horan shared memories and behind-the-scenes material connected to the track’s early days. In his anniversary message, the singer reflected on the simple approach behind the song, which centered on his voice and acoustic guitar at a time when larger pop productions were dominating radio.
This Town became an important first step in establishing Horan as a solo artist. The song reached No. 20 on the Hot 100 and has since passed one billion streams, giving it a lasting place in his catalog.
