The Kayne West controversy continues after Balenciaga, the French fashion house that’s been working with West and his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian for many years, announced it’s cutting ties with the rapper.
“Balenciaga has no longer any relationship or any plans for future projects related to this artist,” a spokesperson for Kering said Friday in a statement to Women’s Wear Daily. Balenciaga collaborated earlier this year with Ye on his Yeezy label and Gap Inc. which had hooded jumpsuits for $300 and $200 cross-body bags. Mr. West also walked the runway in Paris in early October for the Balenciaga fashion show.

Is Ye headed in a downward spiral because he also ended his partnership with Gap and told Bloomberg that he plans to cut ties with his corporate suppliers? His Adidas sneaker deal is also under review, and JPMorganChase cut their ties by closing his account. On top of that, he was blocked from Instagram and Twitter over offensive posts going against what the social network says is a violation of their policies.
Balenciaga has not responded to several calls and emails from The Associated Press requesting comment. Ye also did not respond to a request to comment he did however hire an Attorney Camille Vasquez – best known for representing Johnny Depp in his recent defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
