Back in April, the iconic Biz Markie celebrated his 57th birthday and while there have been numerous reports and updates about his current health condition, last night an unfortunate story circulated around that the rapper had sadly passed, which we have now learned is not the case.

Last July, Biz was reportedly hospitalized after suffering a stroke and was believed to be in a coma but later a later confirmation from his rep denied these rumors. The “Just A Friend” rapper has been in steady recovery since this news broke but yesterday a false story detailing his passing was shared, which lead to many mourning his alleged death. Within an hour of the news spreading, journalist Roland Martin took to social media to denounce the claims. “Folks,

@BizMarkie has NOT died. I have been in contact with sources who are texting and talking to his wife. My source talked to Biz TODAY. Per his wife, Biz HAS NOT passed away. Please stop responding to non-credible sources,” Roland stated in a tweet.

Later, Biz’s loved ones came forward to share their message, which also put an end to the claims of his passing.
