Mary J. Blige Details Her Darkest Times During 'My Life' Album With New Amazon Documentary

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige has had an impeccable career that has allowed her to reinvent and stay true to herself over the past decades that has placed her as a legend in music.

As fans have grown to love and respect Blige for her honesty and pain that she’s shared with the world, the multi-Grammy winner, Oscar nominee, and newly Apollo Theater Walk Of Fame inductee is prepping her latest feature, which is a revealing look at her iconic sophomore album with an upcoming Amazon documentary. Shared in an announcement via her official social media accounts, Blige says, “I’m so excited to share the trailer for my new documentary. Get ready to learn the story behind one of the most inspiring albums of all time in. #MJBMyLife with Yours Truly!! Coming June 25th to @amazonprimevideo.”

During the trailer, Blige also reflects on her dark moments during the ‘My Life; era, “My Life is probably my darkest album at one of the darkest times I’ve had. Most of the time I was just depressed and didn’t want to live. I had it all inside and I was able to sing it and write it, and I didn’t know that so many people felt the same way.”
