The iconic Coolio and DJ Wino have celebrated over 30 years in the game and the two stopped through a virtual check-in with the KDAY Morning show hosts Cece and Romeo.

With new music out, Coolio’s latest, “Out Fa The Bag”, came at a time where the rapper explains there was a void for a new release and the pandemic allowed for the rapper and Wino to create music more directly. As Coolio’s career has stood through decades, the Compton native says that his fans need new music from him and also shares his hindsight on how what he would like the industry to be like now.

Speaking on his 1993 classic, Coolio explains why he didn’t want to originally record the infectious “Fantastic Voyage” due to creative differences with his record label at the time. Coolio also goes on to speak about a mishap with recording ‘Gangsta’s Paradise”, why he enjoys touring with Naughty By Nature, going up against WC in a hypothetical Verzuz Battle, and much more.
