Earlier this week hip-hop celebrated the legacy of the late Notorious B.I.G. as the legend’s 24th anniversary of his passing was met with remembrance. In what is a throwback moment, Fat Joe recently recalled a point where he was actually working on new music with Biggie and details that their album consisted of some in the moment diss records towards another late hip-hop legend, 2Pac.

Speaking with Verzuz creators Swizz Beatz and Timbaland on his official Instagram Live, Joe reveals that  he and  Big had a few songs recorded for a project they were working on and much of those records were pointed diss tracks at Tupac Shakur. While, of course, the songs never made it to see the light of day, Joe explained, “You know I say stuff, Tim, and they always say I lie or I say too much. You know I worked on an album with Biggie? We cut about five songs together. He was like, ‘You the Latino don, I’m the Black don.’ And we was in that studio going crazy. It’s verified by Puff Daddy and everybody.” Joe continues, “I’ma keep it real – at the time, we were dissing Tupac a lot and all that and so that should have never seen the light of day. Which is respectfully so, because you know they both passed on. But yeah, I worked with the B.I.G. for real.”
