WNBA legend Lisa Leslie is continuing to make her legacy even more solidified in sports history as the LA Sparks queen will reportedly be the first female athlete honored with a statue outside of the Los Angeles’ Staples Center.

If you’ve been to the Staples Center, then you are already familiar with all of the sports legends who historically stand on the LA grounds plaza, such as Magic Johnson, Chick Hearn, Wayne Gretzky, Oscar De La Hoya, and more. According to the Los Angeles Times reporter Arash Markazi, the details still have to be ironed out about the specific date but Leslie will officially be the 11th statue outside of the famed building.

Leslie is a total Los Angeles Sparks legend as she started with the franchise in the WNBA’s first draft in 1997 and played her entire career with the team through 2009. Leslie has some amazing stats under her name as the first WNBA player to dunk in a game, won three league MVPs, two championship rings, four Olympic gold medals and three All-Star Game MVPs.

Congrats to the leading Queen!
