The passing of Stan Lee hit hard for comic fans around the world. Not only is Lee responsible for the creation of Black Panther, Spider-Man, Iron-Man, Ant-Man, the Fantastic Four and many more characters, he was beloved for his appearances in the Marvel films as well. Lee’s legacy has continued to live on after his passing, included with the recent news that a street will be named after him in the Bronx, New York.

According to New York Post, the New York City Council has approved a proposal to name a street in the Bronx after Stan Lee. University Avenue will be co-named “Stan Lee Way,” considering he lived in the area and was an alumni at DeWitt Clinton High School. As of now, the only signature left would be from the mayor to make it official.

Considering how impactful Lee was, for him to be memorized in his hometown just feels right.
