Undoubtedly one of the greatest rappers of all time, Scarface is looking to hang up the mic for new horizons. The Houston legend had previously mentioned that he would be joining the race for Houston City Council. With this, fans of Scarface would’ve already guessed that hip hop would be put to the side, but now it appears the rapper will be leaving the rap game indefinitely.

In a recent interview with FADER, Scarface revealed that getting into politics would mean his retirement from hip hop. He then elaborated on his 2017 interview where he stated that, “Scarface is dead” and if he would be leaving the rap game. “I mean, for me it’s done. I like the idea of politics,” he said.

Now, the man born Brad Jordan, will be running for the Houston City Council in District D, the seat vacated by Rep. Dwight Boykins, who is currently running for mayor. Jordan credits Boykins for inspiring him to run. “He’s responsible for me feeling the way I’m feeling,” Jordan said. “I wanna continue his work.”

Good luck to Scarface on his new endevours!
