Lamar Odom‘s comeback from his near-death experience back in 2015 has been miraculous, to say the least. The former Lakers‘ star has since shared details of his time since in his new book, “Darkness To Light.” Odom has also stated that Kobe Bryant played a crucial role in his life, even going as far as to call Bryant the ‘father figure’ he never had.
Bryant had the reputation of being a difficult teammate to be around, but there’s no denying the love that certain Lakers’ stars have for the Black Mamba. Players like Pau Gasol, Derek Fisher and of course, Lamar Odom have nothing but praises for the former Lakers’ all-star. Odom’s relationship with Bryant is special, especially considering he made the effort to attend Bryant’s final NBA game while he was still recovering from a drug overdose.
Odom will be playing this summer with The BIG3, so we wish him the best on his return to basketball.

Kobe Bryant played a crucial role in my life. I have recently started to reflect back about my relationships and I’m so grateful for the people god gave me. His love and care was so deep I should have given you my 6th man award just because I feel you deserved it. My book, Darkness to Light wouldn’t be my life story if you weren’t in it. I hope you know that I’m extremely blessed to have you in my life not only as a friend, laker fam, but also as a father figure that I never had. Thank you @kobebryant #darknesstolight #letschangetogether #growth
