Wu-Tang Clan has had quite an active year. Following the release of their “Of Mics & Men” Showtime documentary and the group having a Staten Island district named after them, the Wu seems ready to continue forward.

The group is set to drop “Wu-Tang: An American Saga” soon, with Dave East set to take the role of Shotgun, a character based on Method Man. In a recent interview with GQ, Method Man explained why he thought East would be a good fit for the role.

“I cannot play myself as a young myself, it wouldn’t even look right,” he said. “I saw it as an opportunity for somebody that’s like myself when I first got into it, ’cause there weren’t a lot of people giving you the chance to show that you can do it.”

Meth then made it clear that he wanted East for the role, saying “when I seen Dave’s name in the pot, I was like, ‘yeah, he’s just like me.'”
