Pete Rock Reveals Upcoming Album Cover Art & Release Date

Pete Rock is considered one of the greatest producers of all time, influencing the likes of J Dilla and 9th Wonder in the process. From his work with Nas, Redman and Public Enemy, he’s managed to gain worldwide respect from his peers, and now he’s back with more music dropping soon. The veteran producer revealed the cover for “Return Of The SP1200” on Instagram and announced that the project will drop on April 12.

“Im super excited about this project cuz its old beats that still sound heavy,” he wrote. “Jamie Staub did such a wonderful job mixing, Jrocc my other soul brotha from anotha motha and sanford green former marvel artist of black panther & Luke Cage! Wanted that “spiderverse” feel. 4/12.”

However, this isn’t the only project Rock has been working on. In a recent interview with HipHopDX, De La Soul’s Maseo revealed that he, Rock and DJ Premier were working on two new De La albums. Brooklyn rapper, Skyzoo also revealed that he has an album dropping soon with the legendary producer.

Return Of The SP1200 will be the first Pete Rock album since his 2017 release, Last Sessions.
