Dave East has shown to be one of the most diverse rappers of the past few years. Not only is he a phenomenal rapper, he’s dwelled into acting and modeling as well. Now, it appears he wants to continue to make his presence known in the acting world, considering he’s previously been on BET’s Being Mary Jane back in 2017. The New York rapper seems to have found the perfect role for him, as he is set to star as Method Man in Hulu’s Wu-Tang: An American Saga.

Dave East will take on the role of Shotgun, a character based around Method Man. This character is fascinated by hip hop and “takes pride in being the assistant manager at the concession stand next to the Statue of Liberty.”

Aside from acting, East has been focused on his upcoming album, Survival. The project was last announced back in November of last year, but nothing has surfaced since then. He mentioned that the album would drop in the first quarter of 2019, so hopefully fans can listen to it soon.

Wu-Tang: An American Saga is a 10-episode series focusing on the beginnings of the Wu-Tang Clan in Staten Island, New York. The film will focus on RZA’s quest to gather twelve young rappers and set them on the right path of success through hip hop.
