Kanye West and Jay-Z’s relationship has been complicated for the past couple of years. Many issues have occurred throughout the years between the two, but both parties still say they are family. However it seems that money may be the root of some of their problems.

According to TMZ, Kanye West is filing a lawsuit against Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records and EMI Publishing over money he says he’s owed. West reportedly filed two lawsuits Friday morning against Jay’s former label and EMI Publishing. The Chicago rapper/producer is also requesting the declaration of rights over a current dispute he’s having against EMI April Music.

West says he signed with EMI back in 2003 and that by the end of 2011, he’d worked on more than 200 track with the rights of those songs going to EMI. The lawsuit states that these songs are some of his most influential and successful tracks, so he wants his money.

According to the lawsuit, Ye wants the judge to help him declare his rights under the contract, so the deal might just be for money.
