Questlove’s hip hop knowledge is vast. This has lead to Michelle Obama allowing The Roots member to curate a special playlist for her book tour. According to Billboard, Mrs. Obama asked Questlove to create her a three-part playlist on Spotify and Pandora titled, The Michelle Obama Musiaqualogy playlist.

“Like a lot of people, I connect many of my memories with the songs and melodies I was listening to at the time,” Mrs. Obama told Billboard. “That’s why I’m so thankful to Questlove for curating these playlists and infusing them with his signature style. Life’s a little better when we live it to Questlove’s beat.”

The playlist includes the likes of Prince, Earth, Wind & Fire, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson and more. The volumes are spread out by dates, with the first being 1964-1979, followed by 1980-1997 and 1997-2018. Mrs. Obama has also announced that she will make a special appearance on Questlove’s Questlove Supreme podcast on Pandora.
