The singer also went in to talk about his choosing to be independent, saying that the music has always been “about the people.”
He further mentions signing to Irv Gotti over L.A. Reid.
“Irv was a mentor of mine. I had another deal on the table with L.A. Reid at the exact same time. It actually wasn’t hard to do a deal with Irv because when I saw Irv, I saw something that I should strive to be one day.” Lloyd says.
