Kevin Hart Officially Shuts Down Oscars: “I Don’t Have The Time”

Kevin Hart has previously has been questioned lately over homophobic tweets from a decade ago, which led to him stepping down from hosting the Oscars. The Academy has since said they would welcome Hart back, but he has other plans. The invitation has come too late as the comedian has officially confirmed that he will not reclaim the host position in the ceremony.

Hart has mentioned that the main reason he refused the invitation was due to timing. “I am not hosting the Oscars this year… right now, from a time perspective, I don’t have the time,” he said on Good Morning America. “I like to call myself a perfectionist. I would want to make sure the production is a great representation of me and my talent.” He might consider hosting “in the future […] but it’s not the conversation of today.”

Kevin also says that he has no energy left to explain or apologize for the tweets. “For the last time, I am done addressing this. There is no more conversation about it.” He said
