Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman film hit theaters this weekend and it’s looking like it’ll be another success for the director. Although it did not get the number one spot, BlacKkKlansman was able to make a total of $10.8 million in domestic sales, according to Box Office Mojo.

The movie stars John David Washington, who is Denzel Washington’s son and is following the footsteps of his father by collaborating with Spike Lee. Adam Driver plays Washington’s police mate, and Topher Grace plays David Duke, the leader of the KKK. The film currently has a score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The solid fan base the film has managed to get has largely been due to word of mouth, so it should help continue to push it forward.
